In 1980 the streak of American presidents elected at 20-year intervals dying while in office was snapped, in an astonishing coincidence.
Year of election – President
1840 – William Henry Harrison
1860 – Abraham Lincon
1880 – James A. Garfield.
1900 – William McKinley
1920 – Warren G. Harding
1940 – Franklin D. Roosevelt *
1960 – John F. Kennedy
* His first election was in 1932. The 1940 election was his third and he died in his fourth term.
It was then Regan’s turn after being elected in 1980, then Bush for the 2000 election (he is still alive). In 2020 Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the elections. The current president is 81 years old. With the background and considering his age, he should take extra care.
Running again in 2024, Biden continues to challenge presidential stats.
